PeerShelf Community Guidelines & Safety Policy

These Guidelines are an extension of our Terms of Use. By using PeerShelf, you agree to uphold these standards of integrity, safety, and legality.

1. Prohibited Listings & Items

Weapons & Explosives

Firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, tactical knives, cross-bows, explosives, or any item designed to cause physical harm.

Illegal & Regulated Goods

Controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, prescription medications, or any item that requires a specialized license to distribute.

Adult Content

Sexually explicit materials, adult toys, or services of a sexual nature.

Stolen & Counterfeit Property

Any item you do not have the legal right to transfer, including bootleg media, counterfeit designer goods, or stolen hardware.

High-Risk Safety Items

Recalled products, expired infant car seats, or hazardous chemicals.

Digital & Financial Goods

Cryptocurrency, gift cards, digital accounts, or keys for software and games.

2. Community Conduct & Anti-Harassment

Bullying & Harassment

Includes stalking, doxxing, use of slurs, or communication intended to intimidate or disparage another user.

Discrimination

Refusing to transact with a user based on race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Unsafe Physical Conduct

Reports of reckless behavior, property damage, or physical threats during a local hand-off may lead to immediate permanent bans.

3. Integrity & Platform Authenticity

Review Manipulation

Creating fake reviews, paying for positive reviews, or using sock-puppet accounts to inflate reputation.

Identity Misrepresentation

Creating multiple accounts to bypass bans, spoofing location, or impersonating people or organizations.

Listing Fraud

Using stock photos to hide damage, misrepresenting condition, or listing items you do not physically possess.

4. Enforcement & Consequences

Immediate content removal, including listings, photos, or reviews.

Account suspension while we investigate safety or authenticity concerns.

Permanent termination of platform access and associated data where allowed by law.

Law-enforcement cooperation for illegal activity such as stolen goods or weapons, consistent with our Privacy Notice.

5. Limitation of Liability

Users interact at their own risk. PeerShelf does not inspect or guarantee the safety, legality, or condition of any items. By using this service, you waive PeerShelf of liability regarding physical injury or property damage resulting from community exchanges.
